All deserts are 'desolate' places, but awesome for the eyes...
Where else did I go... in Namibia?
First: the south-west and the Namib desert (photos).
Second: Etosha park, with all african animals adapted to the semi-desert conditions
Sylvester: I not fortunate. OK, I've a good job and travel is a passion. In Namibia, we lodged under tent and traveled in a truck...
Let's think: if I smoke one packet of cigarettes per day, it costs to me in one year the half of the price of my journey in Namibia. I hope that you don't smoke... ;-)
I've always wanted to travel, but seeing pictures like this is just making it worse. Hopefully, I can go to places as aweing as that someday. Excellent angle. The shadows are placed just right.
The fascination of desert i think is unique. But is true tha in namibia some beach are close to the pubblic couse you can find diamonds on the sand?...great shot 09/10
Yes! A big part of the desert is closed. But it seems that there is no more diamonds there. They are searching now in the ocean with big boats. I saw a movie on that subject a few months ago. Thanks Pier :-)
That's twice now that I logged out only to have one of your images pop up as the featured image and I just had to log back in to comment...another one of your intriguing captures..it seems endless and so isolated but beautiful...I can feel the heat. : Pat.
Hello Pierre, this is the first time I've seen this photo..it is totally mind boggling to think there are landscapes such as these on our earth...and you always bring the beauty to all of us..I thank you for that my friend!!
Wow, what an impressive photo you have here. Such a barren and uninviting landscape, yet at the same time there is a singular beauty about the thing. Well done with this capture!
Never knowing
Shocking but we're nothing
We're just moments
We're Clever but we're clueless
We're just human
Amusing but confusing
Were trying but where is this all leading
Never Know

I have really enjoyed your desert pictures. Isn't it amazing how sun and sand and wind create SUCH beauty! Thank you for sharing these with us. You have an eye for beauty, and I am glad I got to see such lovilness through your images!
Love the color and shadow detail. That indistinct horizon would be perfect for some photoshop tweaking. You could really insert some creative backgrounds. Nice shot from one of the most desolate places on earth.
oh man, what a view! and all that with a 715, can't believe it. please let me add you to my friends list, I don't want to miss your future images :o)
Chris
Don't know how I missed this one, but I did. Love this. It grabs my attention, forces me to stare at it and then before I know what hit me, I've been mesmerized! I was really shocked to read where you said what camera you used to take this with. I immediately looked it up and had to start snickering....not at your camera but at the rest of us who invest thousands of dollars in lenses to capture what you did with a point and shoot. Not only that, you may have saved me a lot of money. I was just getting ready to purchase some expensive lenses ( long telephotos with f/2.8 apertures). I had overlooked the option of buying a high end point and shoot super zoom to fill in the gaps. Can I take you to dinner?
