Echo echo! That is impressive indeed. I think the largest I have been inside was at Duke University and it was a wonderful experience being the only one in there. Thanks for sharing these great shots~
Nice shot Pierre. I get a feeling that it is leaning to the right though? I don't know why. Maybe because the left side is slightly more prominant, combined with the scale of the room? Does anyone else get this feeling or is it just me?
Wow, very impressive inside as well. What a marvel, Pierre! I think this would make a good practice image for correcting perspective. May not work with this image?
Thanks guys! This photo is a part of my Amiens Cathedral series. One of the most beautiful example of the gothic architecture in France.
Darryl: Just a little correction of brightness/contrast, as always. The sun outside gived a nice light inside.
Sam: yes! I had the same feeling, but after a test of cropping, I saw it comes surely from the different light on the two sides... :-)
I visit Paris 2 years ago and went in to the Notre dame cathedral..it is a real challenge to catch the perspective and get the right "feeling" of it..I guess you took a couple before you feel it came out right? What is the name of this one?
By the way...excellent picture Pierre!! / T
So So Beautiful. Only wish that guy wasn't standing in the middle. :-)
This is going on my favorites. Wonderful architecture and details in the stone. Just Amazing!
I've been in there. Nice place. That cathedral's just huge. We had a nice gig in there with our choir and also just outside it with about 15000 spectators. There's this special thing that the frontside is sometimes lit so that every little detail has it's "real" colour. so when there's human statues at night you can see them in colours (skin's skincoloured and their cloths have many different colours and even detail..). That looks very beautiful.
And yes, I can see it too that the image isn't exactly straight. otherwise it is a good shot.
One can see the grandeur and belief system of the people of a more ancient time....a great deal of money and time was given to honor God........a magnificent photo.Composition is exquisite as is lighting.
