This is the fabulous Gard's bridge, built by the Romans on first century to bring water to the new city of Nîmes. More info here :-)

My bridge! The first time I was there I was about 6, and the pont du gard is the only thing i remember from that trip, together with a huge lavender field

Saw this bridge featured on a watercolour painting programme and its now one of my ambitions to go and see it. Such beauty! Thanks for reminding me of one of my travel destinations ;)

It is amazing that structure survived so many centuries of chaos. The way you can see the wooded hill in the back threading its way across the skyline, intersecting with the aquaduct is very very interesting... Nice shot.
