prefer this one of the two as the colour seams more balanced - the yellow orchid shot is just a bit too full on colour contrast wise at full size for my tastes :-) the purple and green hues work really well together here.
Oh what colours Pierre! I've sure never seen such a gorgeous orchid. Its strange because we live fairly close to Hawaii, and yet we dont see many orchids here..I do kind of wish you could get rid of some of the greenery so the orchid would show much better. (I cant imagine me telling you that, because you are one of the BEST photographers on caedes!) but I would just love to see the flower better, it has so many colours that it is hard to see them all with so much background....I love all your photos as you know my friend!
I believe the second half of one's life is meant to be better than the first half. The first half is finding out how you do it. And the second half is enjoying it....
Pierre, this is also a magnificent image. If I were to have anything to critique, it would be to be mindful of "hotspots". The left side of the image is so bright that it draws the eye away from the main subject. Still this is an excellent image worthy of a place on my laptop for the week and a high score.
I like the exceptional detail, even in the shadows. How do you achieve this? I assume you are shooting digital. My digital images are still too contrasty for my liking.
