I was taking photos during a wedding banquet; the light in the late afternoon was interesting. Comments are welcome :-)

This is so different for you Pierre. I like how you captured the littlest girls look of concentration on her face. Its just lovely. And that they are watching things so closely is so sweet too.ITs sweet how she has her little pieces of comfort..the pacifier and the blankie..I also like that we can see the wine glasses in the background, so that we all know its a festive time...Lovely frame my friend...bravo!..verena

The lighting here is superb Pierre! I like the look of rapture ont he face of the older girl. The little one has a look of ehaustion on her face! She eneds her blanket and her pacificer. The day has been long. The background is rather cool looking..it is blurred, yet detailed enough to provide such a duality....young girls and wine glasses. Things that just don't go together. Well composed and well done. Thank you :)

It seems two grils are deeply focused on some events taking place during the banquet... they didn't even notice you taking this photo. The lighting works its magic. It makes the hair glitter and nicely but delicately illuminates the faces... Great photo.

They were not looking for some wine, but for the BIG cake which appeared from the cooking... The good time for a photographer, isn't it? ;-)
Thanks Ewa!

It seems that all too often Portraitures get a bums wrap here on Caedes. Then again there is that one that can't go unnoticed and this is one of those.
To me what really goes the extra mile in making this a memorable image, besides the subjects, is the lighting. The main light source appears to be over the right shoulder giving all the wonderful highlights to the hair, shoulder and arm and then having that light reflected back into the faces.
Did you use a reflector or did it naturally occur off of something like a white tablecloth? However it happened, well done.
It gets a 10 by me.

Yes, Michael (you are very observant!). The main light source is coming from the reflection on a white tablecloth. I was thinking at how to take them without catch their attention and then arrived the wedding cake... ;-)
Many thanks for your wonderful comment!

Marvelous image. The expressions captured their delight at the sight of the cake-bet their parents would have liked this! And, as described above, the lighting gives an ethereal feel. Gorgeous work Pierre :*>
