It’s a pretty picture for sure Pierre. Love that wispy sky, the colour palette and composition. I think the patterns of the vineyards are fascinating. You certainly live in an attractive area.
There is a lot to look at and study in this photo. When I first downloaded it I sat here in
front of the screen and took a complete tour of Alsace. Since you captured everything crystal clear, I can see that they build their houses differently than here in the states. I appears that they live well. Their city is clean and neat. I can follow the contours of the streets and roads.
Thks to your fine capture, I have been given a small taste of life in this area. Very well done
Pierre.
Great distance shot. The flatness of the landscape really allows to see right to the far horizon. The snow on the fields, and the structure on the hill to the left, alnog with the houses show an artificial landscape that somehow feels very natural - as if the inhabitants of the city have lived there for centuries.
The streamlike placement of the foreground houses gives my eyes something to focus on and follow. As there is so much in the image it cant be taken in all at once, so looking at different parts of the landscape is like actually being there, exploring it.
A sort of cross between 'Amsterdam' and 'Alps' images - showing the serenity and calm of a busy city.
Great stuff Pierre.
Hope you have more for where that came from.
Sam.
Wow another great distance capture Pierre. Are those the vineyards to the left? This image has such sharp nd crisp detail as well as composition. High quality and good color make it a winner in my book! :~)
I dont think anyone has bothered to photograph terraced fields in the winter, and now I don't know why. It's such a lovely pattern textured by the supports. It's a picturesque, inviting town snuggled up warm against the hills.
Hi there! Thanks my friends for your interesting comments :-)
Remember I don't live there, but 400 km (300 miles) to the north, in Belgium. But the landscapes are very similar, except for the vineyards. Very few wines in my country.... only beers.... ;-)
Thanks again!
Very interesting photo here! I visited a small village in Alsace in September before the weather turned and found it a beautiful area; quite rustic compared to what I am use to living in a modern town. It charmed me, thanks for providing a new snap of it :)
