Yep! I'd say you have the macro lense thing figured out. I do not have one for my camera, and I sure wish I did. I have to use a 400 mm zoom lense to get the same effect, and standing off at that distane has a profound effect on depth of field. Your shallow DOF here got the whole subject in focus while eliminating all the background into a brown mush. Great shot my friend.
