Actually, I disagree about the frame. I use them a lot but when the central subject matter is small and requires all the attention to make the full image work, a frame can distract as it does here. The moon behind the branches is small but still bright. The heavy white frames pull the eye away from where you really want it to be. The subtleties in this photo are excellent but they need to pop through contrast. I realize you were going for the feeling of a framed print or painting but a thin black frame would have allowed this photo to exhibit its true character. I really like your photo... it's the frame that's not working.
