This is the Dambulla Golden temple at night. It was quite a tricky shot to achieve due to the complicated lighting and hope I have done my best. Comments appreciated.
It’s really interesting to compare this shot with the daylight version. This one has more to see with the windows lit up. Budda seems to be gazing over my head in this one while in the other he seems to be looking straight into my eyes in a searching manner. I couldn’t say which I prefer, they are both well executed and interesting.
wow this is a great shot, i feel that Budda with darkeness falling upon him looks even more impressive than before. Also the mouth-shaped entrance with that lighting and the game of shadows generates some powerfull feelings.
Wow! It looks fantastic all lit up, and the statue in particular really stands out and looks powerful. Thanks for sharing with us what it looks like at night.
** For the next few weeks, I will not be Commenting as much as I should, I Will be looking at ALL of your Picture posts...I apologise from the bottom of my heart for this...Things should be back to 'normal' after the holiday period**
What a fantastic night capture Priyantha. I can only imagine that you had a difficult time shooting this image. I think I prefer the daytime one better. This one is more of a challenge photographically, but the other is less commercial and evokes more feeling, in my opinion that is. This image gives us a much better idea of how large the temple really is though. It is incredibly composed with excellent colors. Job well done my friend :~)
Thank you for the kind words you left on ~solitude~. There was nothing to denote the type of flower that this was, but is certainly looked lovely alone and moist with the watering the staff had just given it. I am glad that you enjoyed it and your continued support, comments/critiques are deeply appreciated. :~)
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.
