This place is situated in an area called "Sithulpahuwa".The Rock Caves and dagobas (Sthupa or a shrine like place) at Sithulpahuwa are well-known. Arahants (Enlightened monks ) numbering 12,000 had seen living in the caves on 2nd C. BC. Situated in the jungle strip in the Southern most part of Sri Lanka.

That’s a real quality photo Priyantha. The colours and composition are excellent. That building is totally fascinating. I guess you don’t have to worry about anybody falling through that ceiling. And to top it off you have given us a very interesting description too.

What an amazing place! this is really something - the colours of the sky are so vivid, and the clouds around the strange building compliment it really well. I like the composition, but it is a shame that the actual man made part of the building is dark.. although it's clear you have done the best job you could have possibly done at that time of the day. Thanks for sharing such a place with us - it really is something i have never heard of.
