A very good image.........always good to be educated in how others live...i have a friend from SriLanka.(Palaney) and he tells me how hard life can be there....thanks for sharing this........we are so spoiled in the West

Its crazy.. that looks so uncomfortable! i suppose the water is fairly shallow there..

how do they avoid hooking each other when they cast the line in?!

You have to be a really dedicated fisherman to sit on a stick all day to do it. Great photo. Very interesting to study all the details.

Well now, that certainly is different and very interesting too. I imagine fishing like that demands endurance as well as patience. It strikes me that this is the kind of photo that makes National Geographic popular.

Great shot my friend. I have seen it on Discovery channel, quite a mysterious technique for fishing but seems to be effective as well. Definitely exotic capture for most of the Caedesians. Top notes in the voting booth!

Does each pole belong to an individual fisherman or is it first come-first served?
The capture is so wonderful. Terrific clarity, colors and composition. I love the water and foam against the sky. Most enjoyable.
