There are so many aphids around now, flying in ones face, mouth and eyes which can be annoying.Thier eggs are ready and the female aphids start reproducingand each offspring also reproduces, hence the large numbers.They all feed on the flower /plant & excrete "honeydew". Ladybirds eat 300 medium-size aphids before it lays eggs, quite a feast. A nice easy food chain.

And then the ants come to ward off the ladybirds to save the aphids as food producers for the ants colony. Good capture of this food chain:-)
