Lisa, I initially thought that it was a balloon flying through the star spangled night, but at closer look I didn't see a basket with persons to enjoy this wonderful sky. Makes your narrative clear too, ☺ . A fantastic (both meant literally and figuratively) creation with a high doses of artistry. A great DT indeed! Thanks for that, my friend!

C, in explanation of the narrative, sky lanterns are illegal in 29 of the 50 states in the U.S., because they can be a serious hazard. They are not, however, illegal where I currently live and I occasionally will see them floating by on a summer night (especially on the 4th of July).
I have commented three times on this shot and received an error code all three times about posting a comment more than every 20 seconds whatever they think that means.
Another stunner recommended to whomever is the Art Council and a solid fave for me.
P.S. I just copied this note in case I get the same error.
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
Special thanks to Dorothy for tenacious determination to post a comment ... {{Hugs}}. I routinely get that same overflow error when posting. I've just learned to click off the error and repeatedly continue trying to post until it takes (usually takes 2 or 3 attempts).
Whoa!! For several seconds there I thought this might be a piece of work using Plotagraph or Flixel (give them several seconds to fully load on the web sites) piece because to my eyes the stars were moving behind the lantern for several seconds before my eyes focused...LOL...very nice work nonetheless.
WOW, this pushes all my buttons, this is simply sensational. I admire very much the simplicity, the lighting, the angle of the photo. The idea for this capture is so original and executed perfectly. Not only would this make a fantastic desktop, I would like an entire wall in my home with this on it! Big Time Favorite!!!!!!!!
It makes a solemn statement, with great color and style, without getting the police or fire department involved. You don't mind if a fellow artist keeps a copy for his desktop, do you? (I nicked a copy of Moon Dance, too [wink, wink].)

The simple joy of sending a flaming bag to land your neighbor's roof was never easier or more romantic. And it sure beats ringing the doorbell and leaving the burning mess on their porch, beloved classic that it is. Adding a deuce to the flaming bag only adds to the comedy, but it's hard to launch with just a candle. So kudos for keeping it simple, this is one WMD everybody can share together.
And the glass is always half empty too. A more romantic moment for me would have the candle as a centerpiece in a dinner for two, champagne on ice and thick filet mignon cuts ready for grilling. Except, someone two streets over launched one of these paper bag bombs and burned my house down. o_O
Seriously?! Geez, I'm sorry! That would make anyone half empty.
I do agree with you, Russ. I consider it irresponsible to release uncontrolled, unsupervised fire into the environment. I have only drawn sky lanterns. Never launched 'em.
Hence my disclaimer in the (above) drawing description, that the DRAWING won't cause fires or litter.
