What a perfect photo of a perfect rose. Such rich buttery yellows...with touches of pink. And you certainly captured this in its most lovely way. Very nicely done...verena
Mercy, That is about the perfect pose for a rose. All the pedals are curled just right; each one in the right position in relation to the others around it. Also, there is just the right amount of color fading in and out on the pedals. And finally, a beautiful yellow as well. Perfect capture/

Hi Bob, this is absolutely lovely! The clarity of the photo, like all of your images is amazing!! The color appears as softly golden! The rich dark green background serves as a beautiful enhancement! I like your title very much as it is well chosen! "Simplicity is beauty", there in lies the secret, I think! The perfect rose needs no accompaniment! There is something about a rose Bob, isn't there? Very nice, Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Bob, super quality photo from you as usual.
To be honest, I am not so fond of the flash, it makes natural things unnatural.
Have you ever tried to take a photo like this with a sheet of white paper between the flash and the subject? It diffuses the light and softens the flower. It takes a few shots to experiment where to hold the paper, but it can do miracles. I use that simple technique sometimes when shooting portraits.
And what about no flash at all, just (very) long exposures? Your super camera can do that easily I am sure!
