I have had some inquires about what equipment I use for macro shots. I have used three different camera bodies over the last few years but my favorite macro setup is the Sigma 105 macro in conjunction with the Canon 550 flash. Most of my macro pictures are shot with camera settings similar to these. File Name Flower Child.jpg Camera Model Canon EOS D60 Lens Sigma 105 Macro Shooting Date/Time 7/16/2004 4:00:34 PM Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/125 Av( Aperture Value ) 25 ISO Speed 100 Flash On

Cannon EOS D60? Whoe! We are very serious about photography, aren't we? Gooooooooooood camera. These poor butterflys havn't got a chance against that camera. I have heard that the D60 has little arms that pop out and hold the butterfly until it has been properly captured. (Ahem). What a beauitful capture this is. The red buds just show off thus butterfly perfectly. This is a keeper and on my desktop it goes.

First of all I want to say the absolute best cameras are the Canons. I have had one for over twenty years, then I got a NIkon Digital and it doesnt compare to Canon at all, altho as a digital for scenery its good. You photo here is flawless. The red call attention right away. That is the very prettiest it could have been with a black and white butterfly. YOu just did this wonderfully. Thank you so much...verena

Your detail here in incredible Robert! You have taken a more common butterfly and definitely turned it into a work of art! The tightly closed red buds and the black and white of the butterfly provide awesome contrast. Thanks for the info about your equipment as well. Many, many thanks for sharing this beauty with us :~)

Very nice macro. I guess my next camera is going to have to be a Canon. I love the color and depth that the lower iso gives. Almost like Kodacrhome. Well done.
