The passing of knowledge from one generation to the next. The young plant is being touched by all the beauty and wisdom of the older plant. And with this knowledge, color will enter into its life and it will grow free from the shadows of the blue hues and into the warmth of the reds. I like your picture very much Rachel and look forward to more of your art posts.

of course if you're having a down day it looks like a weed impinging on the rose's territory, in fact taking the water of life directly from it.
Those little leaves definitely look weedy to me.

I like the concept very much Rachel. And think you did a good job with the actual painting.

Art being what it is in my mind ... highly interpretative and subjective to the viewer ... if I may be bold here ... the scale of your flowers is my only caveat. That, or some adjustment of the perspectives would bring home your concept, as outlined in your narrative, a tad more. My humble opinion only.

That said ... nice use of colour. I like that element very much. Vibrant being the operative word ... and very fitting when talking about life. :o)

Good work and thanks for sharing this one with us.
