Neat stuff. Cool photo. I must say that despite it's beauty, the very first thing I saw was the date stamp. "Clone tool" that joker out and you got yourself a cool shot!
This is a very good picture, but as others have said, you might want to crop the date stamp out or cover it with a frame. I recommend Paint Shop Pro for editing software if you don't have any. There's also a free photo-editing program called Photo Filtre. Try googling it. If you have a Mac, there is other free stuff available.
Hi...I'll join the chorus about the date key. I use both Paint Shop and Photofiltre and I find Photofiltre to be the easiest for such quick and easy jobs like this one. Just get your brush width down to 1 or 2 pixels and lift your finger off the mouse button every pixel or 2 of movement or else you will be cloning what was originally there but you thought you had erased. In that dark area you shouldn't have to go back and pick out a similar area in the photo to clone over your cloned area to remove any repeating cloning patterns. I can see why this shot of those wonderful mountains is very appealing, but I question the sky. Is that green color on top the famous LA smog? I like the way the sun picked out that white building in the foreground; added interest to what otherwise would be a dark spot in the photo.
That's a really nice position you found there. I'm always fascinated by American cities like this where you have mountains surrounding the city. In England everything is more or less flat - with the odd hill.
