This spiral image has taken a while, mainly to render. Didn't turn out what I wanted but I'm likely to give a second go around. I hope it's still enough to catch your interest.

whoa - that's pretty cool reddawg. I like the effect used on the 3d object. it takes the typical 3d rendering to a different level. nice job.

thank you both. tracy-- it's actually treated as if it were made out of water, which is how i got it to look like this. its not what i wanted quite, im gonna try messing with it more and do another version

after the render i used a distance mask to increase the sense that the coil is going into the distance, both in terms of blur effect and darkness. there were also some across-the-board color changes. the background is also fabricated. thank you!
