A flower blooms atop the ruined walls of a 12th century castle in the Pyrenees. The castle withstood the pope's armies during the Albigensian Crusade, but fell before the ravages of the centuries.
Thanks for the comments. Actually that's not fog - its the clouds. The shot was taken at 3PM on a 96-degree Farenheit sunny day. It was just at an altitude of over 12,000 feet in the Pyrenees mountains, so the clouds lay right on top of the ramparts. I wandered the castle until I shot ALL of my 280 photos. I knew I'd never have another chance to get shots like this :-(
This is one of my favorites. It must have been just awe-inspiring to have been there. I like how you centered the flower but yet it did not take away at all from the mountains. Great picture!
