I managed to sneak up on this egret while walking through one of Louisiana's many swamps. It took about 45 minutes to get him, but it was quite worthwhile I think. I took a skill I learned here at Caedes.net to do the effects.
I really like this. I like how the bird stands out against the dark background. I love the layering. Great full sized, icons will stand out well against this.
Anytime one can get close enough to these nervous birds to get a good image it deserves high marks. Very well presented and makes a beautiful desktop.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.
William Faulkner
The egret is a beautiful bird. At my apt.area we have ponds, and there is one egret that visits twice a year. I always look forward to seeing him. They are so regal in appearance. This egret stands out so well on the dark greens. I like way you framed him..inside a frame inside another frame. This is a super image. Great on the desktop!
