As my wife and I evacuated ahead of Hurricane Katrina we spent a lot of time in traffic on old Louisiana backroads. During one particularly trying part of the drive we saw an old train bridge from the early 1900's's, and being who I am I parked the car and ran off down the tracks with my camera and the unheeded warnings of my wife ringing in my ears. This old bridge had amazing bones with its frame, reinforcing plates, and rivets marching off to a perspective point. I shot a lot of photos, but this was the best I could do. I reduced it to 64 colors - as small as I could, but it's still big. I don't know why. I hope you like it.

The low perspective works good and makes this seem very big.I like your color adjustment if thats what it is.The gray of the steel is just right for this.

Nice shot. Your poor wife.

I like the composition here and the desaturation works nicely. This pic is good.

Beautiful shot, regmar - enhanced by the reduction in colours (imho). Glad you are safe also!

What a perfect capture here...not just the quality, but the emotions that it seems to stir up. Excellent as always!

Hi Regmar, Pleased to know that you and your wife are safe and well. This is an amazing picture, given the circumstances. It has a great nostalgic feel to it. I love the way the end of the bridge is centered perfectly in the frame. My compliments and highest vote.
Regards to you and your wife.

I like the desaturation too, without it the rust spots on the beams might have pulled your eyes away from the view. The low angle is great too, I love all those beams and angled plates in a domino like line at the bottom

I absolutely love the way you have captured this bridge. The angle you took this at is very effective. Great work!

Its very moving because it reminds me of so many other things. The inside of a whale, the ark, industrialization, and because of your comment, Katrina, and all the passion associated.

It looks good with low color too.
