Working Together As One

Recently while taking a weekend away from the stress of rebuilding my city and my home after Hurricane Katrina, I came across a planted grove of oak trees. It struck me that when viewed from certain angles the branches of these stately old trees interacted and formed amazing shapes. Furthermore their extreme age evoked thought of relationships forming over and lasting for many years.

This brought my "Working Together" studies into being. I have returned to that site on several occasions to shoot various pairs of trees, their branched intertwined forming these delightful shapes. I hope you like them too.

Regmar, this is a perfect title and I'm hoping that your theme of "Working Together" extends to your city as well. You've captured these in a perfect way. Thanks for sharing this with us. Anita

This is a beautiful capture. So sensitive and peaceful. Love the intertwining of the limbs. They almost look as if their dancing.

I enjoy the lack of color here, Regmar, because the relationship of the trees really stands out more. I'm glad you took several photos; I'm hoping you'll post them, too. B&W is really under-used and it's so dramatic. Then again, I'm an Adams fan :)) - Good work! - Patty (ps - Natives call trees "Standing People" - they do interact!)

It's all about perspective and perception.

It looks very lovely. The B&W effect really adds to it. You have quite the eye for a beautiful capture.

These stately trees appear as a heart in my eyes :) What a wonderful sense of composition you have my friend. I am glad that you and Lourdes are taking time off from all of your hard work and enjoying what you do so well...photography.
Beautifully done and well expressed. Thank you angel :~)

So beautiful, and so honoring too. Black and white was the best choice too.. there is such a wonderful mood to this. These trees have seen so much over the years, eh? Not the least of which was Katrina.

The open space in the middle kind of looks like a heart shape that anchors the two together. Nice composition.

I thought I was the only person that looked at trees this way. Being the tree hugger I am, I have many pictures like this that I am unable to post due to not having a scanner. I will have to get in touch with you to get your honest opinion when I finally get the chance to post them. I love these pictures, you did a wonderful job dear.
