I see this barge every day. It's rusty and old, and it obstructs otherwise interesting scenery. To get a good view of the river without this monstrosity in the way I must walk a couple hundred yards to the office cafeteria - not in itself an unpleasant chore. Today I decided to try to make beauty of that which obstructs my view of beauty. I figured when it comes to textures black and white is the way to go.

I like the b&w, it adds to the image. I like all the different textures.

nice depth and array of textures here. I think the valve in the upper right corner should've been excluded, or brought fully into the frame.

Always thinking Reg :)
The first thing that I noticed was all the different angles that are represented here as well as the tying of the rope. The black and white is sharp and clear. I like the composition and the clarity and quality of this image. Thanks for sharing it with me ;=)

Has transformed to a good abstract and the beauty of it lies in its simplicity and inherent strength............a view worth making/taking

I agree with Mimi that there is a lot of interesting shapes and textures here. And I also appreciate your title...seems there is a disappearing disease going around, and it's good to know that at least you aren't going anywhere :)

Hey there my friend! I love the feeling the rope gives the whole picture!! If it weren't there, you would have lost alot, probably not even taken the photo I imagine. I too like all the different angles, and you made a great abstract look of something that you werent real sure of..Nice stuff...Verena
