It stands at the intersection of the past and the future. This plantation house on the Mississippi River outside of New Orleans is one of the few remaining bastions of a way of life. One by one the grande dames of the river disappear, the victims of time. Every year or two we hear of another that is gone forever - Tuzcuco, Laura, Elmwood - the flames take them, and another jewel is lost to the next generations. How will our children know where they come from?

I can't explain it, but there's something very mystical about this image.

Good work, I like it ;

I really like this one too. Your narrative got me set up before I opened it up fully to look at it, and it's so poignant and illustrates your point so well.

May the sun bring you new energy by day. May the moon softly restore you by night. May the rain wash away your sorrows. May the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life. It's an unusual angle - makes me wonder what the rest looks like. But that's also part of the fun of it - your imagination takes over. Nice job!
