I work on a military base these days as a civilian contractor. The U.S. Army is none too keen on photographers on their installations, but I've managed to weasel my way into the good graces of base security, so they allow me to take my photos.

The other morning heavy fog covered the base, and as I parked my scooter and got ready to enter the building I saw this ship's bell with the beads of fog clinging to its surface, and I thought, "Surely I can make something out of THIS." I hope you like it.

You've done such a professional job on this. I'm attracted to simple subjects with loads of shapes and complimentary angles all underlined with subtle lighting, and your photo describes that more readily than anything else I can say. Well done!

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

Hey my friend! ..I'm so happy to see your photos on here again!!..what I like most about this simple photo is the way you have the light shining on the one side, and then those pearls of moisture, it's very nice. I kind of wish the whole name were on the bell tho. That's because now I'm wondering what it said and why..hehe..I'm just nosey me thinx!! Thanx for something unique to use on my desktop....verena

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual. Edward Weston
