I really like the DOF, Rebecca. I would like to be in SC, golfing.

Rebecca - The depth of this image with the bokeh offers a glimpse to the size of this plant, while focusing the eye on the sharply focused one. Very nice low angle soft lighting. What kind of plant is this, do you know? Thad

Dear agent, SAR,
Long time no sea !!!
What is this? Buds or fruit?
Very good secret work. LOL
Either way I like the lighting very much and the object whatever it is - things should be kept confidential !!

Looks like must have been a compositional nightmare, however, nice work.

As mentioned above the DOF is a very strong element in pulling this one off.

I am curious, though.. and this probably flies in the face of compositional norms and without the benefit of having been there ... what the result would be of including that one section of the plant completely that is somewhat cutoff in the lower left?

Might be interesting to see.. if you did crop this one and have some pixels to spare.

Even a simple frame, matte, border.. like this, perhaps:

"Burst" - framed

My thinking here is, on the note of the framing possibility anyways.. is to allow your viewer to fill in the rest of the plant in their mind's eye. And play off of the diagonal of the two opposing dominant sections.

Seems to create a better balance, distribution of visual weight?

That said..

What I enjoy about your image here, aside from the DOF ... are the plant's stalks lines. Geodesic is the descriptor that comes to mind.

Cool cool shot. Good good colours and clarity/focus.

Thanks for sharing this one with us. :o)
