To me it looks like this bee is taking an afternoon snooze. I took this at a local greenhouse months ago, and it has been hiding in my computer files ever since.
He does indeed look as though he's dozing in the afternoon sun, but, since his left antennae is pointed downward, I'm guessing he's cleaning the other one, as it's often a paired reaction in nectar gatherers. It is a good macro, clearly illustrating his "fur" and leaded-glass wings.
