I know several geologists who'll love to have this as wallpaper on their monitors, with your kind permission, of course. The stain of minerals in the rock exhibits the fact that our earth is varied in content and the tilt of the layers shows how it lives a turbulent life over ages, rising and falling and recreating itself. I never had enough time in university to take the geology courses I wanted, and have regretted that silly mistake ever since! This one is one of my favorite kinds of desktops...unobtrusive and yet something to study when needing a break from whatever work I'm doing.
