Another night photo with the theme of reflections in the water. Also this picture was taken in Leiden, Holland. The bridge on the left is dedicated to the painter Rembrandt, who was born in Leiden. Any comment or suggestion for improvement, is greatly appreciated.

Suggestions for improvement, are you kidding? This is a great low light shot. The only thing I would say is the sky seems to be a bit chequered or gridish (mabey it`s my monitor?). I love pictures like this and this is great.

~per your request~

Outstanding scene!! I'm not too much into nighttime photography, so I'm no expert. It does seem grainy and a wee bright (for being night), perhaps less shutter speed. 25sec seem realllly long especially with no movement going on. Keep the main focus on the windmill and lighting around, if you lose the houses in the backdrop I couldn't think it would hurt. Again, a neat-o scene!!

Hold on, let me go give this thing a spin and then start snappin'!! 8~D

Its a great night pic.. but i agree with Ian.. there is a chequered grain in the sky.. the only suggestion i have is get rid of the grain and a slight increase of contrast or shadow.. beautiful work

neatimage will help with pixelated skies, day or night .. (the demo works for'evah .. I think)

a couple points, that you can ignore if you disagree ..

1) .. the subject is basically Centered .. the rule of thirds generally produces a more pleasing composition and a little less, (excuse the expression), amateurish\touristy

2) .. the subject is a little snug for my tastes .. windmill blade to windmill blade .. I would probably sacrifice some reflections and give more room the the sky .. shift the windmill structure to the bottom third and viewer's left third (following the rule of thirds) ..

or, pull back, zoomwise, and give it room to breathe

IMHO .. the reflections here aren't adding to the image like the reflections in a calm mountain lake would add to an image and you could lose half of it

Nice but a wee noisy. I don't think that with a 25 sec. exposure you needed to go with an ISO 400. I would have gone 200 tops. Maybe even tried it at 100. Nice reflections.
