This is the same tower (Accijnstoren) as in Silent Tower, in Alkmaar in North-Holland. This time it is taken from the opposite side (that is, outside of the town centre). The scene was pretty dark, I made five shots with different duration, the longest over two minutes. As usual, every comment and criticism is more than welcome. Rob

Great quality on this night shot...I love the way you captured the sky and the reflections are a must in any night shot that includes water. I don't really see any graininess at all, very nicely done!! I'm curious as to what your settings were...

Sorry to all...I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to lately. I'm a 9 to 5er again (actually more like 8:15 to 7:30 these days!!) Don't worry, I still see all of your wonderful posts, if only for a second.

Just for the record the answer to Stephen's question:
I used a Canon 350D with a Sigma 10-20 wideangle lens. The settings according to the EXIF data on the raw image were: ISO 100 (that's why there is no noise), Aperture F/11, Focal Lenght 16mm, exposure time 135 sec. (max). 15 sec. (min).

This is wonderful quality!
The lights and reflections are great and I love the deep colours.
Personally I'd try to remove that little railing in the corner at the bottom.

Overall this is a stunning night shot imo

~per your request~

Stunning night shot!! The horizontal lines seems a wee askew and overall a wee bright which induces some blur...but not bad!! Still, all in all a striking piece of night work mister!! Radical reflections!!

Beautiful shot.. I love night shots and this one is a beauty.. you have captured the reflections and lights perfectly.. the only suggestion I can give is maybe somehow remove the rail on the left.. apart from that stunning

I love night shots and this is a beauty. When you say it was a two minute shot, does that mean you kept the shutter open for two minutes on bulb setting?

Yes, the shutter was open on "bulb" settting because the Canon 350D is limited to 30 sec. otherwise, with a shutter release cable (it would not be possible to keep the keep finger on the camera for two minutes without shaking the camera ;-) )
