The new building hosting the conservatory in Amsterdam is one of many new interesting examples of modern architecture on the islands that used to be the docks area, and which are since a few years being completely redeveloped. Instead of making a photo of the whole building, I tried to capture one of its remarkable characteristics, that is, the panels which change their colour depending on the side you look at them (and maybe also depending on the light). I will be pleased to read your comments, both positive and negative.

It's lovely...and evocative of the neat architecture going on in Amsterdam!

Beautiful clarity and colours! I really like the perspective you chose, it makes for a wonderful abstract DT!

Per your request for comment - it is intersting, but until I read the description in the narrative I had no idea what I was looking at, which I think probably hurt your over-all score. The colors are interesting and the perspective unique, but I think I would rather see a bit more of the building for a sense of perspective.

I think you're going to get opinions all across the board on this one, because it is an abstract piece. I'm more apt to say that I don't want to know this is a building. I want my imagination to kick in a decide what I think it could be. I think the one thing you could have done would be to crop out the bit of white space on the right side of the image....it throws off the balance a bit in my opinion. Still, great shot overall...good composition, great colors and a great eye to see this shot. Don't worry about the score...abstract shots never do well in the category so I just ignore it. Nicely done!!

Rob, this is a great demonstration of lines, angles, intersects, shadows and colors! I find my eye drawn away from the 'image' and off to the right where the white is...at first glance I am unable to discern whether it is part of the image or part of the page.
Images like this really fire up my desire to 'one day' shoot works as above. Guess it won't happen if I don't do it, eh?
The most fascinating part of this for me is the disparity of coloration. My mind cannot decide of it is the sunrise/sunset or if the building is two-toned. This allows me to make of it what I want!
Good job and many thanks for sharing this with me :-)
