One colorful leafhopper landed on my sleeve, unfortunately only the digital point-and-shoot was nearby..so the quality is not the best. This would be quite a scary monster if it was three or four inches long, no?

Thanks! I'll look for more of these critters this summer, and promise to keep the 'good camera' close at hand. This was shot with a Canon SX100IS, which is good for a point-and-shoot, but not nearly as good as my SX10IS. I'm hoping that if I'm good in 2010 santa will bring my the EOS-1D I want for christmas.
I like the subject of the picture but the overall effect is diminished somewhat by the amount of noise in the picture. Have you thought of using something like Neat Image which is a free noise reduction program? However, keep taking and posting.
Thanks. I have never heard of 'neat image'...I will look at that. This particular photo was so noisy to begin with, I'm not sure how much software can 'save' it. Caedes has helped me to learn the limits of my equipment, which is a good thing. My old Olympus SLR had no problems with noise, as the only 'noise issue' was the sound of the film loading.
