Interesting idea, and both the young lady and the scenery look great. However.... an effect (like the selective b/w here) isn't an end-all to fixing, or preparing an image. A bit more attention to detail is required, as you've made part of her destaurated, along with the background. Her white shirt is a bit over-exposed, and glares a bit. Kind of distracting.
Good creative effort here, just needs a bit more work.
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
I like the effect created by the b/w background. I am always drawn to "The Wizard of Oz," when seeing this effect. Reality was kept in the b/w and fantasy was in color. In this compositon, the reality would be the rocky shoreline and the cold buildings. The fantasy would be the beautiful shy girl. I like your picture very much.
This capture comes alive with the lovely lady. Nicely done in B/W first. The 'shy'lady adds shine to this view and helps the B/W work beautifully. I like the rugged rocks and path leading to the house too. A good image Roelf :^)
92 percent American teens would die if Abecrombie and Fitch told them it uncool to breathe. Would you be in the 8 percent laughing their asses off at the others?
