The 15th hole at Cypress, Pebble Beach, CA. I had to sneak into the course and steady my camera on a sign advising arrest for trespassing. The world famous 16th hole is in the background. It requres a 200 yard shot over the open ocean to reach the green.

Not too bad, but I'm thinking it would be better without the dark outline thing. Still really beautiful blues and greens...

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you liked the shot. It was taken at 6am facing south with the rising sun backlighting the windbrake. There is detail visible at higher resolution but the shot is pretty much the way it looked in person.

Interesting category you chose for this posting. I guess we all have our own concept of a holy place. This is a very nice image and I hope you get back there again soon to take some more.

JoAnn - Thanks for your comments inre "Places of worship". The catagory is pretty much a tongue in cheek reference to the kind of places we golfers look upon with reverence, much like religious persons and holy shrines. Golf has been played since the late 1200's and some of those places still are being played today. Passion for the game and respect, even reverence, for that history can illicit religious references. This particular golf course was described by one of the greatest players of all time, Gene Sarazan, as "if there is a golf course in heaven, this is what it would look like..." A bit over the top to some but for players, it is perfectly understandable. Thanks for your comments.
