I'm impressed with how close you could crop this and with your basic concept about how to present the narrative. There are a lot of swan shots around but little originality (My swan shots lack originality as well. Damn birds are just so elegantly photogenic.) but you've given us an original swan pic, thanks for that. The boundary between the white feathers and the black background blocks has a bit too much presence for my eye, I "noticed" those boundaries, which became a distraction from everything great in the image. The selection boundary for the background blackness fill maybe needed more feathering?
