Ok, the temperature outside is a balmy 22 degrees. Pewaukee Lake has been frozen for months. Think that's enough to keep us Wisconsin-ites from using our sail boats? Not a chance! We just put blades on the bottom of them and have at it! When the blades are sharpened properly and a good wind gets going these little babies can hit speeds of 40+ MPH on the frozen lake. Wisconsin Tough!

Definitely an interesting post, Rich. That looks like it would be massively fun, maybe I'll try it someday. Way to be innovative with your sail boats. (just make sure the ice is thick enough). :)

They sure look nice against that beautiful blue sky. Great ingenuity. I like the view of the lake and the trees in the background. I have a question however: Correct me if I'm wrong. 1. This is Milwaukee 2. Miller Brewing Company is located there. 3. You drink too much beer you need some relief. 4. The name of the lake is Pewaukee. I rest my case (Miller Lite) Good post Rich

Very clean shot Rich! Brr, as fun as it sounds, I still don't think I would want to be out there! Great composition.

Yeah, leave it to Wisconsin-ites to make sailing an all-year-round activity ... sounds like an adventure to me. I have actually been to Pewaukee Lake & it is a beautiful area. Hope to get back there some day. Very nice detail & I love the shades of blue. Fantastic capture Rich.

I remember when I lived in Oshkosh, Wi and the cars would drive on the lakes, and people sat around ice fishing with fires on the ice! And it would NOT melt either! Amazing. Something I'll never forget. I was but a little girl, and all I did was skate.
But wow, it would be fun to do this little ice sailing!!Verena

Do not wait; the time will never be "just right."Start where you are and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

That looks pretty exciting. I bet that beats ice skating all to H-E-double hockey stick! Very nice picture.

Wow, I never heard of this before. I guess you had better dress quite warmly to engage in this kind of sport. I think I like this idea far better than the ATVs that zoom around our local lake. A nice clear shot of them too.
