It certainly looks cold and the open foreground helps create the sense of distance as the trees fill up the background. Perhaps some work with the curves tool would add some punch.

Fantastic! it looks just like my back yard. The only thing i could suggest would be to enhance the colors a bit, otherwise this photo is tops!!
