"Like other Luminosity Based methods, the Gorman method does not take advantage of the color information in the photograph. It relies entirely on the image's luminosity and intensifies them with Solid Color Toning. Gorman works especially well on fabrics and curved surfaces, and on portraits."
(Hopefully, the above will translate with the image editing software/programs you have at your disposal. Then, there is always The Gimp as a freeware consideration.)

Caveats?
It might be that your subjects are close to frame (tight on the crop/setup) ... however, forging ahead ... can't shake the idea of a portrait format?
Making some allowance and clearance, and in particular ... the addition of some negative space to increase the visual impact of the very nice elements captured and subsequently post processed.
Very creative and a great eye to have seen the potential in the aforementioned textures. Really strong elements in and of themselves.
'Oh, such nice contrasts, detail and texture. I like what you did with this. You have some great ideas running around in your head. This one executed very well. Keep it up!
