He's a beauty, Rob! He looks great with the contrasting blue background. I bet cloning that white bar behind him would make his stand out even more. Great, well focused shot.

I looked the other post over good and he must really be hid Rob.
I guess even Heron's like the seedy side of life once in a while.
Did it have a cup in front of it for money? :)
Cool shot.

He's looking at you, Rob, and I'm thinking that those eyes aren't revealing real trust in this guy pointing this camera at me. Ya gotta love those eyes. Ever since I got my new telephoto lens, it's been raining. I can't really make out what that orange gismo is behind him. Looks like a grenade. Even I wouldn't stoop so low to spook a bird out of hiding. Well, maybe I used to, but not any more.

Fine shot, Rob, of this beautiful bird. As always all things technical look beyond reproach. And I know you go slumming. In fact, you're lucky the thieves and beggars in Rotterdam are more polite. When you hit the slums around here, you're lucky to leave with your camera and/or your life.

Wow this is beautiful looking, the colour that complement each other,it like it was taken in a studio. The detail in the bird is spot on and nice sharp look to the birds eye as well.

A nice capture of the heron, Rob. Nice textures and details in the scene. I like the colours in the photo. Had another look at your tramp streamer shot. Would the heron be the bird hiding down in the bushes on the right?

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake
