Taking to heart a comment made on Foot print 1. by Les and I quote “Being bold here, hope you don't mind.. strange aspect ratio. My personal preference would be to keep to a 16:9 wide aspect, as I feel/think/believe it suits the simplicity of your subject matter. And.. Gets things off of the mid-horizon point, lessens the amount of.. erhm ... what's the word, 'superfluous' space in and around the footprint. Huuuuummmm must say as usual Les is right mumble grumble don't you hate it when that happens …..... But if the truth be known will have to learn from our mistakes. As I don't like doing the same stuff twice and as Roger would say me being a Xenonite I still like space superfluous or not. So I found away round the problem and came up with Foot print number 2 which is as close as I can get to the suggestion. of Les me being a Xenonite (so I am pleonazō of course). That said my thanks to Les and his insightfull comments......... mumble grumble ;0). Let me know what you think I a wait in superfluities.

Learning is the most wonderful thing about this site. I like to think I have learned a lot from all the wonderful artists present on Caedes.
You have done the same Rob. Good post and you and Skitzo talk over my head.

Another interesting shot. I liked the texture somewhat better in the original, but both are good images.

A very appropriate and praiseworthy modification Rob but, I would say that your narrative alone would suit the contest without even posting an image!! Good luck........"but I still hope I win instead he thinks to himself.....":):)

Like Tom I prefer the textures in the original. Both are good shots. I just prefer the original one. Good Luck in the contest whichever you decide to enter.

Hmm. Yes, much better image. Don't care a thing about the black borders but they do show that the image looks much better on black than it would on white. Very nice photo Rob. Well done!

A good rework/alternative view of your previous post, Rob. Good details in the photo. I like the textures in the sand.

This is also very good. But that both images are quite different. 1st one has more simplicity and in this one sand 'waves' are more visible and that makes them very different. Another great work.

I prefer the overall image in this shot as opposed to the original, but the bold texture of the underlying sand almost obliterates the footprints which were far more pronounced in the original. I'm 35 comments behind and have little time as this is "weed abatement" season in my area of the world, Rob; so I'll wish you good luck in the contest.

I prefer this one!! The sand looks like sand qua texture and color, but I am not so sure about the border....but that's just me....

Nice entry though for the contest:o)

Rob - I like the aspect ratio and textures in this, #2, better than the first. Well done! Thad
