Must be the radar, but just in case you can always say that it was taken during the winter !!!LOL Great red thing. Very good composition, dear SOR. SAM & SAAB
Had to come in for a closer look, 'cause in thumbnail I thought you had captured a part of structure behind the foreground subject.
(*retracts wagging 'no no' finger..*)
The red looks good good against and in amongst the monochromatic setting.
Composition is good good, too.
Caveats?
Not sure whether or not you performed any noise reduction and/or that your post processing (Ortonized? perhaps?) might have exacerbated things. The sky, in particular.
Not that it is all that noticeable.. merely a suggestion here to smooth things out some more to underscore the various contrasts happening within frame (colours, dark/light, smooth/hard lines, et al).
A strong image, almost commands attention and is compelling to view.

Hi Les thanks for taking the time to comment. Used as in most of my work Paint.net software the original image I opened in a second layer and metalized it that gives a very grainy image. Used the multiply option in the layer mode lighted the original layer one, then erased the red image in the second layer. In the first layer I selected the red then inverted the selection en reduced the saturation of layer one. Went to layer two and did a surface blur the flattened the image and finished with a 2 point Gaussian blur.
As to the objective I well I was trying to make the red mast look alien in its own surroundings ...... stick out like a sour thumb kinda figure that worked.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

That's pretty close to the Orton method, Rob.
Some creative food for though, then.. and for future reference:
I thought this was your thinking chair which would explain the space heater for those cold winter days you sit there and ponder how you're going to thaw out and get back down from your high perch. An interesting scene and good post work on this photo, Rob.
Great red thing.
Very good composition, dear SOR.
