Beautiful tones in this, Rob. I don't think you intended it to be soft. A click of sharpen really makes the freighter stand out against the shades of that water.
Great colors, Rob! I like the full frame of the ship. Can't miss what the subject is here. That ship stands out well from that wonderful blue water and sky.
I actually downloaded your image and tried to edit it. It seemed to lack sharpness. I figured I'd run it through ReDynaMix to sharpen the ship and then drop in a new sky since you've obviously stolen this sky from California where we won't see any clouds until maybe November. Also ReDynaMix can create some pretty strange colors for no apparent reason. After about 15 minutes of fiddlin' around, I mumbled a few choice words under my breath and deleted the shot. ReDynaMix creates tons of noise in open places like the sky, and it was too tough to isolate the sky.
Except for the soft focus and that California clear blue sky which is uneditable, I like the shot. The composition and colors are stupendous. The scene is breathtaking because of the size of the mammoth ship.

P.S. Oh, one more thing...when I was isolating the sky, I zoomed way in. I would have cloned out the jet on the far left, but that's just me. I know that the aircraft on Xenon are far superior; so maybe you wanted to include an antique in the shot.
P.P.S. Do they have Father's Day in the Netherlands or is that another American holiday invented by the greeting card companies? Either way, Happy Fathers Day.
