Trash Art are recycled pictures I have taken in Rotterdam buildings, street art, flowers, trees, brickwork and anything else at street level grinding and pounding them into what I call Trash Art.
You demand a lot from your models don't you? It's bad enough you made her shave her head, I can't imagine how many hours she had to endure having that makeup applied by a bricklayer. Those guys ain't exactly known for being gentle in their approach to work. Cool work Rob. A neat layering effect.
A Top Notch artwork,Rob .I see the strong symbolism: the world is trying to make all people alike ..but we are all different,so it succeeds only partially..
This work of art appears to already be hanging in a fancy art gallery that is into minimalist decor! This also seems to be a portrait of simplicity in a way. With no make-up or hair color, her hair pulled back tightly, the vapid expression on her face and the emptiness in her eyes, she is displaying beauty in it's most raw form. I love the separation of her face and where you chose to do it, it's as if she is somehow half in and half out of the portrait. If you were to take it down off of the wall, only the top half of her head would remain in place. This is a very well thought out and amazingly creative effect! All at once, a simple and complicated work my friend:)
