My contest entry is a bit of a jumble and even if you can rearrange the four segments of the image it is no guarantee that you will understand or recognize what you are looking at have fun Hahaaaaaaaa...... (he laughs insanely).
Don't know what this is Rob but it's a cool shot. I like the tones , the lines and the textures. I will continue to try and figure this out. Great contest entry !
Rob - It's the straight jacket that the men in white coats are trying to put on you after hearing your sinister laugh. lol Actually, I don't know what it is. A good entry. Thad
These are bales of chain link fencing you've absconded with from the many sites you've pounded your garbage images out. Either that or its the traditional net used by Dutch bachelors to capture their future wives. I not sure yet which way I am leaning. Best of luck in the contest.
It looks like some kind of fishing net, but I sure couldn't say for sure. The texture is incredible, that's one thing I'm sure of! Very nice stumper you've got here Rob, especially in these great tones!
I actually did download it, quartering and repasting it, and, as you said, it is still tough to determine. Going from left to right and top to bottom, #1 (in the upper left) is actually #4 (bottom right), #2 is still #2, #3 is #1, and #4 is #3. There. That should now be as confusing as your image is puzzling. There are two different light sources so it's hard to say which way it should be viewed but it does look like a woven mesh, but too firm to be a fishing net. It also overlaps in a way that I don't believe it's wire fencing. A true puzzler, Rob. If this contest is to be judged for confusing content instead of whether or not it looks "purty" on a monitor, I'd say you have a winner. Time will tell.
Hmmmmm. I had finished my comment and went back to look at my reconfigured copy of your image, from a distance (sometimes things are too close in under our noses), and it almost looks like a head, like from a statue, wrapped in a mesh. The segment that is in the upper left in your submitted copy has a bulge near the bottom that looks like a nose and the shadowed area above it and to the left where an eye might be. Whatever could it be? Oh! The humanity!!!
Bllbllbllbllbllbllbllbllb. That's the sound of my fingers blubbing repeatedly over my bottom lip (you remember doing that when you were a kid, right? An impression of losing one's mind?).

I have looked several times waiting for sudden enlightenment but for me it still remains a mystery - perhaps some sort of fishing net, lobsters? Whatever it proves to be at the great unveiling - it is a great entry with nice textures and cleverly divided. Best of luck Rob
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I will continue to try and figure this out.
Great contest entry !
