The sun is baking him on one side he will not be sailing any time soon funding is falling short the oak is very expensive. Kinda a shame as he is all dressed up and no were to go. So if you have a spare 16 million euro and looking for hobby.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Rob, the figurehead was symbolizing and promising for the reconstruction of the Delft, but honestly I don't know what the reconstruction has now has its present stage.
The last ten years wasn't show that much progression on Delfshaven Rotterdam. This project cost a fortune and raising money had to be, in my honest opinion, a structural/professional rather than a voluntary base. Hope to see in my lifetime that The Delft was sailing under full sail. You never know (self-fulfilling prophecy? lol).

Very interesting posting mate!

Regards, Cornelius.

Kind of a shame that it has come short of funds but anymore I think that is a common thing to happen, big ideas, and it ends up being much more than originally quoted. He looks like he is hanging on and hoping for better things. Tigs♥ =^..^

Too bad that its construction is stopped for a history of money, while we expense for trivial things! Inch Allah can be seen sailing one day. Great shot, Rob.

Rob - The reality of money needed to complete the project has left the lion out in the sun. Perhaps, in time, he can lead the ship out to sea. Good eye to compose this photo. Thad

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.

What a stunning piece of work this is on the front of a ship and you captured it very nicely with spot in focus and great natural colours plus light and composition too.
