Great expression on his face. A picture from the early days of Amazon home delivery. Your expertise is so apparent in this well done colorization.

I'm guessing the "Enforced Rest" was created by the photographer asking young master Swope to stop and pose. Studying the window sign behind him tells me he's sitting on a sample of the wire wares of that company (whose name is mostly hidden by the top of the photo's frame). I'm always a little amazed at how out-of-neighborhood shoppers might have found any of these places (if they did at all), the signs being so small; the store to his left is the "Rob't J. McCombs Fine Groceries Fruits and Nuts", and it's included in the small pillar sign behind Harry as well as painted on the window glass. Of course, the only way we see any color that might have attracted customers, in these photos, is through the fine colorizing you do, Rob. I do know that in larger cities of this time period, people in a neighborhood usually made their purchases in the small shops and stores within walking distance only, thereby becoming well-known by the proprietor and often developing personal relationships with them. It's amazing what an influx of personal transportation can do--family cars--to change a colloquial pattern like that... it seldom happens today. In case you were wondering, Rob, I, for one, am definitely NOT getting tired of this series.

Harry would be 99 now Rob. I wonder if he became involved in printing in his adult life. A good photo to set one's imagination afire. Great work again.

Harry looks quite content sitting on that wire chair - like the coloring - the muted colors on the subject and the overall sepia effect within the image - Great work Rob!!!:-):-):-)

Superb work as always Rob.
This lad looks pleased to be having his photo taken on that beautiful wire seat which I presume is a piece from the place he is in front of. I hope he has a bike because I would hate to walk far in those shoes - they are too big for his feet ! Maybe his Dad's

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
