The Singer Sewing Machine in the background lets you know where she is headed next Rob. Another good one.

What she's doing is called "piece work", and yep, we can read the "GER" of Singer and see that this is the version that works off that grilled treadle at the bottom. If properly lubricated, even a wee lass like her could have operated the machine without much effort. Watching this linked video of a treadle-powered Singer in action, you'll finally see the treadle start working at about 2 minutes in. This was much less taxing, physically, and cleaner work than what we've been seeing of the children doffers and spinners, as her very nice clothes indicates. She's also quite absorbed in her work and doesn't appear to be stressed. As always, Rob, good colors; it looks very natural.

She is groomed and better dressed than the children we saw in your previous posts. She is really focused into the work at hand.

Rob, I like to join me in 'Nik's comment. Although her work requires full concentration, it's not the slavery job as depicted in the previous entries of your (magnificent) series.
The series as a whole shows that childhood labor was a rather 'common use' in that era. Hardly to image that they couldn't spent their childhood days with playing, studying, and doing their school work.
An intriguing series, my friend, that was made more attractive to view nowadays by your editing/colorization!
