She looks scared to death Rob. Maybe her corset is too tight!
Whatever, you did your usual outstanding work.

Your technique was done to perfection on this one, she does not look very happy, maybe she was uncomfortable in front of the camera. tigs=^..^=

With that long, heavy skirt, and strong leather riding gloves, Naomi(?) looks like she's ready for a short drive (no goggles) in her husband's new Oldsmobile. She might want to rethink that delicate lace blouse, however... still lots of soot in those days.

Lovely work on this, I'd like to see the white piece along the left edge cloned out though it really distracts from your beautiful work. Just my opinion now.

Beautifully subtle colouring for this fragile looking damsel :)

The lace blouse seems at odds with the leather gloves but I guess that was the fashion then

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Rob, think that this probably wealthy lady (because of her outfit) never has done any child labor in a cotton mill and never has met the hardship that was visualized by your previous posts.
Really another world! Reality photography versus glamour photography of the gone by era.
You've proven again, in spite of the different matter, that you're able to handle (editing/colorization) any category. We already knew this, but you've confirmed it again.
Excellently done per usual, my friend!

Big hats seemed to be popular in those days. Along with wavy, upswept hair. But it's those gloves that really show there's money in the family. Hand-stitched calf or lambskin gloves like those would have taken multiple fittings to get right, and they really rock the outfit. The simple, but stylish dress is perfectly complimented by a frilled lace blouse and jaunty headgear. But I don't see any distress in her as some do, just the same studied blankness that most of these portraits display. And since this lack of personality is so pervasive in these images, it begs the question of how much coaching was involved before this single, final moment was chosen. To have been a fly on the wall would have been interesting.
