This speaks volumes, and I think it would make a wonderful contest entry. Your choice of color placement I think it spot on! Perfectly done Rob, with the added text.

I see the boy has his eye on the drum Rob. I like how you colorized him and the drum to draw attention.
Your Christmas greeting and words adds to this touching scene.
I hope he got his Christmas wish.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

Near perfection again. The main elements are enhanced by the use of muted colors to make a fine image even more interesting.

I remember store windows at the local Sears & Roebuck store, filled with Christmas goodies, wistfully viewed while standing outside in the cold. Now it's cram-packed malls with a very different character. Whereas it used to be Lincoln Logs, toboggans, and portable record players (playing "45's"), now it's hoodies, pandora beads, and cell phones. I wish I could ask my parents what "it" was for them, in their day, but I'm nearly eligible for medicare and they're long gone. Images like these that you're exposing the membership to, Rob, are so important in reviving interest and appreciation for the past (at least I hope it is). Younger people seldom seem to grasp the idea that us older people have a lot of experience to share, and that once we're gone, we're just not coming back, and neither is all the stuff we know.

Such an appropriate image for Christmas Rob - the colorization is excellent - I do like how you highlighted the drum as well - the expression on the boy's face is priceless - hope he got that drum for Christmas!!!!!!!!!! p.s. Good Luck in the current contest - a fine entry.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Perhaps, like forbidden fruit, the boy is looking longingly at the toys that he'll never get. Fine post-photo colorization.
