He could pass for a banker or successful business man. I like his tie. When I first started out working in a grocery store, we had to wear white shirts and brown bow ties.

Rob, I've found a more detailed portrait of Mr. W.B. Griffin. Please check-out this link to view it.
To me it's helpful to confirm now what both Tick, Carol, and John already have said in their comment.
By your perfect way of colorization you've given this person even more dignity when compared with the original B&W version.
Outstanding job again, my friend!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Although I cannot find much of anything about a W. B. Griffin in Washington, D.C., around the beginning of the twentieth century, but if you look at the bottom of the photo you will see a triangular stone suspended from a chain. William-Walter-Warren-Whatever??? may have been a member of the Masons in Washington, D.C., or a Mekubbal in the Jewish Kabbala tradition, both of which use the triangle as a strong symbol of their beliefs and practices. The Masonic triangle is also utilized on American money and both Masonic and Kabbala triangles are in a number of places in the streets and buildings of Washington, D.C., the source of this photo.

It's interesting that we're making character judgments on people dead a century, with only a name and a resurrected portrait to go on. He could've
been a mayor or a garbage collector (but a well groomed one). You just
can't tell. That being said, I'm not getting good vibes off this guy at all.
